I think the product is a fantastic idea and a really convenient way to add new percussive elements to my playing, but I think the design and user experience could use some further iterations before I could really recommend it.
When I tried to install the attached X brace, the screws kept unseating from the woodblock, and I had to resort to using pliers to pull them back out. Despite several attempts, I ultimately had to install the unit without the brace, leaving me concerned about its overall stability.
The other concern I had is with the contact point of the woodblock. Should it be the wooden surface or the plastic part with the logo? While the stryker appears to align with the logo, striking this area results in damage to the plastic and a slightly muffled tone compared to hitting the wood directly.
Despite these issues, I appreciate the innovative idea behind the RhymStryker. With some adjustments to the design and installation process, it could become a valuable addition to any percussionist's setup. Thank you for making innovative products for the community!
Hi Luis, thank you for taking the time to detail your issues. First off, I apologize for not responding to you for weeks, we just got our Shopify setup and getting things coordinated.
I am not clear on the issue with the screws unseating with the X-brace. The contact point for the RhymStryker onto the RhymBlock is the polycarbonate logo. The damage I see in the photo is likely the plastic protective film that covers the top surface needs to be pulled off, the logo should not be damageable. When striking the logo, the sound should be the same as when striking the wood. If it is not, we may have a quality control issue that needs to be repaired. We will contact you right away to take care of all your issues and make sure everything works as designed.
